Butterfly release and Halloween snack

Last week was an exciting week! It was time to set our butterfly friends free. The kids were given peppermints to suck on. After getting their fingers nice and sticky, they let the butterflies climb onto their fingers for pictures.

Here is our sweet rat, Lovey, who is growing and losing her remaining bits of fuzz.

Allyson Gilstrap brought some fun activities for the kids today for Halloween.

They completed word searches.

They decorated pumpkin cookies.

They ate cupcakes.

And they turned each other into mummies using toilet paper.

It was lots of fun!

Please come back and visit us soon!

The Sand Baby Shower

Before we get to the pictures of the Sand Baby Shower, here is Ms. Jackson holding Lovey, the hairless rat! Yea, Ms. Jackson! You did it!
And here she is holding our newest addition and first little boy rat, C-Rex. The kids named him C-Rex because he is a dumbo rat, like Cutie, and is a "Rex."
And now for the pictures of the Sand Baby Shower...
Look at these beautiful babies!
The kids made time lines and wrote about events from each year of their lives.
Proud Mamas!
Thank you to everyone who brought decorations, food, drinks, paper products, etc. It was such a special day that the kids will never forget!
Our first game was "Name that Baby." Kids and parents worked together to figure out the names of animals babies (for example, a baby goat is called a kid).

Our next game was Unscramble "baby" items such as baby lotion, hospital, sleepless nights, etc.

(Some parents decided to cheat and use their smart phones. HA!)

The next game we played was for brave moms and dads...They had to drink coke or sprite out of a bottle (while their child fed it to them). Whoever finished drinking the bottle first AND produced a burp when their child burped them was the WINNER!
It was hysterical!

And now...time for snacks! We had:
*slime, snails and puppy dog tails
*sugar, spice, and everything nice
*dirty diaper dessert
*pacifier punch
*babies in blankets
*cutie cupcakes
Below are the dirty diaper desserts that actually look like diapers!
Here is our winner of the game that lasted throughout the party. The kids each got 3 clothes pins to wear around their neck. If they said the word "baby" whoever heard them could take a clothes pin.
Wow! Look at all of those clothes pins!
We hope you stay tuned for more exciting things to come in Mrs. Woolard's Class!
